The good news is that more than 81,000 applications have been received, and 7,700 unaided non-minority private schools have been registered all over the state. To give more time to the eligible families, the department has extended the last date for admission to October 31, 2025.
This effort is part of the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009, and the Tamil Nadu RTE Rules, 2011, which provide for 25% reservation of seats in the entry-level classes like LKG and Class I for children from EWS and DG.
