Step 3: Correction Access: To start your amendments, you will have to click on the link "Edit Application Form" or "Correction Window".

Step 4: Changes: It is a good idea to check which personal details such as name, date of birth, category, exam city, or paper selection, you are allowed to change and then proceed accordingly.

Step 5: Providing Documentation: If the modifications made need to be checked, then you should (e.g., ID proof, certificates) upload the relevant supporting documents.

Step 6: Fee Payment: Let the change be of gender, category, or exam paper; in that case, along with the payment, there will be a fee for the correction. So, pay for the correction if only the payment method is left to complete.

Step 7: Submit and Save Confirmation: After making all your changes, press submit and download a copy for your ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌records.

Important Guidelines for Candidates

  • Make‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ sure that every change you make is backed up by appropriate documents (for instance, a government ID, certificates).

  • Once more, verify the correctness of your name, date of birth, and category details both in terms of spelling.

  • Also, add a bright and current passport-size photo along with your signature in the given format.

  • Please refrain from waiting for the very last moment to make changes if you want to be free from any technical problems that could arise at the eleventh ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌hour.

Why Is the Correction Window Important?

The‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ GATE application correction window is only available once and is meant to correct errors that were made during the registration process. Personal information, exam centre preference, or document upload mistakes may result in:

  • Removal from the exam

  • Inaccurate communication during the admission process

  • Problems in the issuance of scorecards or certificates

Therefore, candidates must definitely use this time slot with utmost ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌caution.
