A major controversy broke out in India when the NEET UG 2024 exam faced allegations of a paper leak. This has raised serious questions about the fairness of one of the country's most important medical entrance exams. The authority of the NEET UG 2025 has significantly increased the security measures at exam centers across the country. The action was taken to restore the faith of the NEET entrance exam.

The controversy last year had caused widespread outrage, with claims suggesting that the integrity of the examination was compromised. It prompted criticism from students, parents, and education experts. Many had demanded reforms to strengthen the security framework surrounding NEET UG, which acts as a gateway for medical aspirants pursuing undergraduate courses in India.

Enhanced Security Protocols

In response, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has implemented strict protocols for the 2024 exams. Over 700+ exam centers have changed their security systems, tightening the environment. To prevent any potential breach, question papers are being transported under heavy police escort to examination centers nationwide. The exam Centres are equipped with CCTV surveillance to monitor activities and ensure transparency. The entry is strictly regulated, with access granted to students and staff only after biometric verification.

A good number of changes are made this year in the security and monitoring systems to address the concerns raised last year. The NEET UG 2025 is scheduled to take place on 4 May, 2025.

Aspirants React to Changes

The tightened security measures have gained mixed reactions from students and their families. While many are glad about the efforts to improve security, some worry about how the extra steps might affect their exam experience. β€œIt's good to see that fairness is being prioritized, but we hope these measures don't create stress or delays on exam day,” said Rishabh Tiwari, a NEET aspirant from Bengaluru.
