NEET UG Counselling 2026: MCC Revises Round 1 Schedule; Check New Dates and Key Details

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has revised the schedule for the NEET UG Counselling Round 1. Candidates who are seeking admission in the Medical Courses offered by top medical colleges across the country can now complete the registration for the counselling process till 15th August 2026 (2 PM) and fill the choices till 17th August 2026 up to 6 PM. In addition to this, the committee will now release the final seat allotment results on 19th August 2026 and candidates must report to the allotted institute for document verification from 20th August 2026 to 26th August 2026. 

Earlier, the MCC released the seat matrix, in which candidates are allowed to select and fill according to their preference or availability of seats. The MCC NEET UG counselling process includes several stages, such as the release of the seat matrix, registration, choice filling and locking, declaration of seat allotment results, and reporting to the allotted institute. To complete the registration for NEET UG Counselling 2026, candidates can follow the simple, student-friendly step-by-step instructions given below for a smooth process. 

Step 1: Visit the official website of MCC. 

Step 2: Now, click on the ‘UG Medical Counselling 2026’ option on the homepage.

Step 3: Complete the registration process using required NEET UG application details.

Step 4: Enter all the personal and academic details as required.

Step 5: Pay the counselling fee through online mode of payment.

Step 6: Select preferred colleges and courses and lock your choices.

Step 7: Download and save the confirmation page for future reference.

What After the Release of Seat Allotment Results? 

After the MCC releases the seat allotment result separately for each round, applicants need to complete the document verification till 26 August 2026. In addition to this, candidates are also required to physically report to the allotted colleges with a hard copy of mandatory documents and pay the admission fees. 

Apart from this, applicants can also raise objections and submit objections, if any. Candidates who are satisfied with the allotted college as well as can either accept or go for the institute reporting round, or they can opt for an upgrade of the allotted seats in further counselling rounds.
