NEET PG Counselling 2025: Schedule, Link & Top Institutes.webp

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has officially started the NEET PG 2025 counselling process after several months of delay. Eligible candidates can now register online for Round 1 of seat allotment. The first round window, which is currently live for medical candidates, stays open for around a month. The complete counselling process consists of 3 counselling and one stray vacancy round. During the first round of counselling candidates can register themselves on the MCC NEET PG official website

Candidates who do not receive a seat in the first round can participate again in later rounds. Students should carefully consider their NEET PG 2025 rank before choosing their preferred colleges to maximize their chances of securing a top seat.

NEET PG 2025 Application Guidelines

A candidate can submit the NEET PG Counselling 2025 application only once. Multiple submissions will lead to immediate disqualification. If any candidate is found to have registered more than once for counselling, their candidature will be cancelled, they will be debarred from the entire NEET PG 2025 counselling process, and the MCC (under the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare) may take additional disciplinary action.

Applicants must ensure that all personal and academic details in the registration form are correct before submitting

NEET PG 2025 Counselling: Seat Conversion and Vacancies After Round 1

After Round 1 of NEET PG 2025 counselling, any seats that were not allotted or that became vacant because candidates did not join are made available for Round 2 counselling. Reserved seats like those for NRI, Jain Minority, or Muslim Minority candidates which remain unfilled after all eligible candidates have been considered get converted to general merit seats in Round 3. Vacant seats after Round 1 are split into clear-cut vacancies, which were never allotted, and virtual vacancies, which occur when candidates opt to upgrade their seats.

Candidates who joined in Round 1 can try for better seats in subsequent rounds, while those who did not join can register afresh. This seat conversion and vacancy process helps to ensure the best use of available seats while respecting reservation policies. Any leftover seats after the final rounds may be filled in stray vacancy rounds or through institutional quotas. This process follows after candidates qualify the NEET PG exam, which is the primary requirement for participating in counselling rounds.
