IIT Hyderabad: Rising‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Demand for CSE and AI

It was a remarkable increase in the number of candidate choices made by the students for the CSE program at IIT Hyderabad, that is from 23,349 to 26,572. The preference for the computer science field went up by 13.80% which clearly shows the enthusiasm students have towards this domain of studies. As the AI program is new, it gathers a lot of attention and hence it became the second most opted course at the institute.

Such a trend points to a vast number of career opportunities that are emerging in software development, data science, cybersecurity, and machine learning. These subjects are very attractive to students because they are very relevant to the current digital world.

About the IIT Hyderabad AI Program

A 4-year full-time degree program at IIT Hyderabad in the area of B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence is what the institute is offering. The college offers 35 seats, and the total fee is approximately INR 9.43 lakhs, out of which INR 2.5 lakhs is to be paid in the first year. Admission is based on the JEE Advanced ranking, and the candidate must have a minimum of 75% in Class 12 examinations to be eligible.

Rank to admission cutoff for the AI program varies from 77 to 861 for different categories, which signifies that the program is highly competitive and in demand.

Traditional Courses Still Hold Value

While the popularity of CSE and AI is undisputed, it is worth noting that some traditional engineering branches like Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering, have also been able to attract more students. Mechanical Engineering fan base has grown by 13.10% while Civil Engineering rose by 13.33%. It implies that a lot of students are still into the classic engineering disciplines and have faith in their prospects in these fields over the next years.

National Trends Mirror Local Choices

The inclination towards CSE and AI at IIT Hyderabad is reflective of what is happening nationwide. A large majority of Indian students are seeking tech-driven programs that will offer them good jobs and have global relevance. Closely situated units like IIT Madras and IIT Bombay have also noticed the same phenomenon of AI and Data Science programs becoming highly competitive.

IIT Hyderabad’s Growing Reputation

After being founded in 2008, IIT Hyderabad didn't need much time to cultivate a solid reputation based on innovation and research. By focusing on the latest technologies and offering interdisciplinary courses, the institute quickly became a first choice for students looking to build a career in future-oriented sectors.

The school’s state-of-the-art facilities, veteran professors, and industry partnerships are factors that contribute to its growing popularity. With the upward trend in demand for digital skills, it is practically a done deal that IIT Hyderabad students will be equipped for the future.
