The institute is offering admissions to the LLB (Honours in Intellectual Property Law), LLM, and Master’s in Public Policy, Law and Governance (MPPLG) programmes. The law programmes are offered by the Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law (RGSOIPL), the only law school in the IIT system dedicated to intellectual property and technology law. According to an official statement, RGSOIPL leverages IIT Kharagpur’s strengths in science, engineering, and technology to deliver future-oriented legal education.

The three-year, full-time LLB (Honours) programme is designed mainly for graduates from engineering, technology, science, medicine, and allied disciplines who wish to transition into the legal profession with a focus on intellectual property and technology law.

First Class Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Medicine, or equivalent, or
