The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu held its 6th Convocation Ceremony on 11 October 2025. This event was an important step for the institute's growth in education and leadership. The ceremony took place at the IIT Jammu campus and was attended by special guests, teachers, families, and graduating students. A total of 386 degrees were awarded during the ceremony. These include 211 B.Tech, 114 M.Tech, 25 M.Sc, and 36 PhD degrees.
There was a special moment at the convocation, which was the unveiling of a new sculpture called “Trishunya: The Infinite Circle of Growth.” This beautiful artwork is for the graduating class of 2025. It shows three spheres representing Curiosity, Resilience, and Vision, which are the core values of the institute.
President’s Gold Medal
Aashray Gupta, a B.Tech student in Computer Science and Engineering, received the President’s Gold Medal for having the highest CGPA among all B.Tech graduates. The Director Gold Medal went to Ahuja Sneha Brijkishor, a B.Tech student in Materials Engineering, for the best overall performance.
Key Highlights of the Event
This event was honoured by Dr Shivkumar Kalyanaraman, the CEO of Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Government of India, who was also the chief guest. During the speech, Dr Kalyanaraman explained to the graduates to work in the rapidly evolving technological world. To help India become a global leader in science and technology.
IIT Jammu Director Prof. Manoj Singh Gaur congratulated the Class of 2025 and gave an important speech. He talked about the importance of curiosity, hard work, and having clear goals. He used India’s Chandrayaan-3 mission as an example to show how determination and smart thinking can help overcome problems.

Institute silver medals for the MTech level were presented to top-performing students across departments. Among postgraduates, silver medals were awarded to Rakshith V.S., Dammu Akshay Kumar, Shweta Girijesh Tripathi, Aman Kumar Singh, Juhi Dubey, Vikas Kumar Tomar, and Amar Jangid for outstanding academic performances across M.Tech and M.Sc. programmes.
