The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) BHU, Varanasi, has started one of its biggest placement drives ever for the 2025–26 season. A total of 1,701 students will take part, including 1,100 BTech, 550 MTech and IDD, and 40 PhD students. The placement process began on December 1, 2025, and the first phase will continue until December 10.
This year’s placement season is especially important because it comes after a successful previous year and shows that IIT BHU is building strong connections with both Indian and international companies.
IIT-BHU Witnesses Strong Start to 2025–26 Placements
Before the commencement of IIT BHU placement drive, 280 students received pre-placement offers (PPOS), thus reflecting the high level of trust that companies have placed on students of IIT-BHU. The arrangements made at the Satish Dhawan Hostel were checked by Prof. Amit Patra (director at IIT-BHU) before the start of the placement drive. Prof. Patra extended his good wishes to the students and expressed his appreciation to the Training and Placement Cell for their hard work.
Approximately 330 leading firms from India and overseas are anticipated to be interviewing candidates during phase one of our placement process. These businesses represent a wide range of industries, including engineering, software development, data analysis, consulting, and financial services, giving our students a variety of career options.
IIT-BHU’s Top Recruiters and High Packages
With the largest package of INR 2.2 crores annually and an average package of about INR 22 lakh, the most recent placement cycle at IIT-BHU set some impressive records. IIT-BHU students have been offered 1,128 placements and 424 internships as of January 31, 2025. The major employers of IIT-BHU students included Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Tata Steel, ITC, Samsung Electronics, Oracle, Walmart, Databricks, and Qualcomm.
For the last century, IIT BHU has remained at the forefront of education in Engineering and Technology. Prof. Patra pointed out that these results indicate that IIT-BHU continues to be successful in developing a workforce that is prepared for today's job market. The placement campaign will end in April 2023 and the Institute expects even more success after that.
