GATE 2026 Exam Dates: The Exam will Take Place from 7-15th February 2026, Read the full Schedule

The IIT Guwahati is set to conduct the GATE 2026 from 07 to 15 February 2026, and the applications are starting from August 25, 2025 onwards. The GATE 2026 official website has already been launched as gate2026.iitg.ac.in. The applicants start applying from August before the deadline without any late fee penalties till September 25, 2025.

The GATE Exam serves as a common aptitude test for admission to various M.Tech and PhD programs and recruitments in Public Sector Undertakings offered across the country. It’s scores can also be used for scholarships to some of these programs. The M.Tech students get a monthly scholarship of INR 12,400 for a duration of 22 consecutive months. Regarding the PhD students, they are awarded a scholarship of INR 37,000 per month for the first two years, which increases to INR 42,000 per month from the third year onwards. Steps to Apply for the GATE 2026 Exam Registration

Step 1: Go to the official website @ gate2026.iitg.ac.in

Step 2: Visit the Homepage and register using the following details and set up a login.

Step 3: Fill out the application form. Upload the scanned documents of photo, signatures, category certificate, if applicable in the required formats 

Step 4: Pay the application fee through the options given, net banking, credit/debit card or UPI.

Step 5: Submit the application and note the confirmation number provided and save for reference.
