The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has started the registrations for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) December 2025 session exam. The online application submission window is open from 14 November 2025 to 4 December 2025. Meanwhile, the exam is scheduled to be held on 17 January 2026 in various cities of the country, which will be a computer-based test. Interested candidates can start filling out the FMGE online application via the official website. However, to complete the application submission, they need to submit the examination fees of INR 6,195 which includes INR 945 as the GST.
The exam is conducted for students having a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from a foreign university, including Indian students, to pass the exam to become eligible to practice medicine in India.

Step to apply for the FMGE 2025 December Session
Candidates can start applying for the FMGE December 2025 at its official website from 14 November, 3:00 pm onwards. The complete application process is as follows:
Step 1: Candidates need to visit at official website of NBE: natboard.edu.in/
Step 2: Click on the link related to the ‘FMGE December 2025 application’ on the homepage.
Step 3: Register by providing your details and creating login credentials.
Step 4: Fill out the application form with personal, academic, and qualification details.
Step 5: Submit all the essential documents (passport, MBBS degree, ID proof, etc.).
Step 6: After filling out all the details, the candidate needs to pay the application fee online.
Step 7: Submit the application form and download a copy of the confirmation for future reference.
FMGE 2025 Eligibility Criteria
For FMGE December 2025, candidates must be Indian citizens or Overseas Citizens of India, and have a medical degree from a recognized foreign medical college approved by the Indian Embassy. They should also have completed all their medical exams and passed before 30 April 2025.
Additionally, they need to provide documents proving that their degree allows them to practice medicine in that country. Some candidates from certain countries with permanent registration may be exempt. There is no age limit, but the candidate must submit all required documents to apply for the exam.
Indian nationals or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) need to have a basic medical degree acknowledged by the respective Indian Embassy to qualify for medical doctor registration in the country where the degree was obtained. The FMGE is a qualifying exam required for those applying for provisional or permanent medical licenses in India, provided by the Medical Council of India or the state medical councils.
