The Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (AP TET) 2025, conducted in December, has been publicly declared by the Department of School Education, Andhra Pradesh.
A huge number of aspirants attended the AP TET this year. Among the 2,71,692 registered candidates, 2,48,427 took the computer-based test. Among them, 97,560 candidates passed, with a pass percentage of 47.82. The results are currently available on the official portal tet2dsc.apcfss.in, where the candidates can download their marks memo with the help of their login credentials.
The test was administered at the district headquarters, municipalities, revenue divisions, and mandals in Andhra Pradesh. The sessions were conducted twice a day, in the morning (9:30 am to 12 pm) and afternoon (2:30 pm to 5:00 pm) to ensure that the number of test-takers was sufficiently large.
AP TET 2025 Results: Fairness Through Normalisation
Since the exam was on such a scale, AP TET 2025 was divided into several shifts with different levels of difficulty. To be fair, the Department also introduced a regularisation process. This statistical correction reconciled the differences between sessions, thus making sure that no candidate was disadvantaged by the difficulty of their paper.
The test was in the form of multiple-choice questions, each with one mark, and no negative marking. This format enabled applicants to take a test without fear as they tested their knowledge of the subject and their teaching skills.
Why AP TET Matters For Aspiring Teachers
The AP TET is a compulsory requirement to teach in government, aided, and private schools in Andhra Pradesh. The result is the entry point for recruitment and career advancement in the education sector for nearly one lakh candidates who have cleared the examination.
The comparatively low pass rate highlights the competitive environment of the exam. It highlights the need to prepare well, master the subject, and be conversant with the teaching techniques. To the ones who failed the test, the results are a reminder of the high standards that are required of educators in the state.
Next Step For Qualifying Candidates
Now that the results have been announced, candidates need to:

The focus on transparency and fairness in the Department is an indication of the objectives of Andhra Pradesh to empower its teaching staff. The AP TET remains an entry point to the teaching profession and strengthens the value of quality education by ensuring high standards of evaluation.
