The National Law University, Delhi has officially released the revised notification for the All India Law Entrance Test 2026. The university has announced that the exam has been rescheduled for December 14, 2025, with the same time slot of 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

The initial notification came out in June 2025. It stated that the AILET 2026 Exam would take place on December 7, 2025, in a traditional offline pen-and-paper format from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. This test is the only way for students to gain admission to its B.A. LL.B. Hons., LL.M., and Ph.D. programs for the 2026–27 academic year. However, the schedule changed. This new timeline gives students extra time to prepare and may help avoid conflicts with other major law entrance exams.

What’s After the AILET Exam 2026

After the AILET 2026 concludes on December 14, 2025, the very next step will be the release of the provisional answer key which should come out in a few days from the end of the exam.  Candidates can raise objections if they find any mistakes in the provisional answer key. After reviewing the objections, the final answer key will be published, followed by the announcement of the results. This is likely to occur in the last week of December 2025 or early January 2026. Shortlisted candidates for the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and LL.M. programs will be invited to the counselling process, which includes document verification and payment of admission fees. The counselling will take place in multiple rounds based on seat availability. Successful applicants will gain admission to NLU Delhi. Others may look for opportunities through other law entrance exams or academic options. This timeline after the exam is critical for candidates to watch carefully, as missing any step could result in losing their seat.
