NEET PG 2025 Exam Pattern: The NEET PG Examination consists of 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Candidates must attempt all the questions within the allotted time, i.e., 3 hours and 30 minutes. The exam is conducted online across the designated centers in India in a computer-based mode (CBT).

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) is the most important national-level entrance exam for postgraduate medical courses in the Indian medical system. It is organized and conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). It acts as a qualifying exam for MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses in India. The exam was conducted on 3 August 2025 in computer-based mode (CBT).

According to the marking scheme, candidates will receive +4 marks for each correct answer, -1 mark for incorrect answers, and 0 marks for unanswered questions. This concludes that candidates should be strategic in attempting the examination so that they may maximize their scores and secure admission to the respective postgraduate medical program of their choice.

The NEET PG 2025 exam follows a set marking scheme to ensure precision in evaluating candidates:

The marking scheme for NEET PG 2025 includes:

  • Correct Answer:- +4 marks are given for each correct answer to encourage candidates to focus on accuracy.
  • Incorrect Answers:- -1 mark is deducted for each wrong answer, to emphasise the importance of careful consideration before attempting questions.
  • Unanswered Questions:- 0 marks were given for unanswered questions, and neither penalty nor reward was offered.

Note: The above-mentioned marking scheme determines a candidate's speed and accuracy.

Important Instructions for Candidates Appearing in NEET PG Exam

  • Documents to Carry:

    • NEET PG 2025 admit card with a recent passport-size colored photograph affixed.

    • One valid photo ID proof such as PAN card, Aadhaar card, Voter ID, Driving License, or Passport.

    • Medical Council registration certificate (either MCI or State Medical Council).

    • Spare passport-sized photograph (same as on the admit card) for administrative purposes.

    • Foreign candidates must carry their original passport and a valid medical practitioner certificate from their country.

  • Exam Day Reporting and Entry:

    • Candidates should reach the exam center by 7:00 AM.

    • Entry into the exam hall closes strictly at 8:30 AM, as no late entry is allowed.

    • Identity verification through manual checks and CCTV monitoring will be done before entry.

  • Dress Code:

    • Wear light-colored, simple half-sleeved clothes. Full sleeves are not allowed.

    • Avoid jewelry, accessories, watches, and any metallic items. No nail polish or henna allowed since nails will be checked.

    • Footwear should be simple slippers or sandals with low heels; shoes are not permitted.

    • Religious attire is allowed but expect additional frisking.

  • Prohibited Items:

    • Electronic gadgets including mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, smartwatches, fitness bands, calculators.

    • Stationery items like pens, pencils, papers, or notes, as rough sheets will be provided at the center.

    • Bags, wallets, purses, food items, water bottles (unless medically required).

  • Conduct During the Exam:

    • Follow all instructions given by invigilators carefully.

    • Do not argue with invigilators as it may lead to immediate disqualification.

    • Be alert and calm before and during the exam.

    • Remember there is negative marking for wrong answers; answer carefully.

  • After the Exam:

    • Keep hold of your admit card safely, as it is required for the counseling process and admission procedures.
