The CAT registration started on August 1, 2025, and the last date for the application was September 13 (or extended till September 20), 2025. The admit cards were available from the beginning of November 2025, and the CAT exam was held on November 30, 2025. The CAT 2025 results are also out on December 24, 2025.

MDI Gurgaon uses the XAT Score to have admission to the PGDM (postgraduate diploma in management) programs, as it is an official entrance test to study at one of India's leading management institutions, XLRI Jamshedpur, which conducts the XAT Test every year at the national level and is recognised nationwide by leading business schools in India, including MDI Gurgaon. Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon also accepts MAT (Management Aptitude Test) scores as one of the criteria for its PGDM admission in some of its programmes. MAT is a national-level management entrance exam conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA) and is held four times a year in February, May, September, and December in Paper-Based Test (PBT) and Computer-Based Test (CBT) modes.
For the 2026 session, the registration for the MAT entrance exams is open till 23 Feb 2026 (PBT) and 2 March 2026 (CBT). Meanwhile, the exam will be conducted on 1 March and 8 March 2026, respectively, for the PBT and CBT modes. MAT scores will be released in the first week of April 2026, after which they can be used for admission applications to the institutes that accept MAT scores. Management Development Institute Gurgaon takes Common Management Admission Test scores as a parameter for selection in some of the PGDM courses. CMAT is a management entrance exam that is conducted on a national level by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and enables students to get admissions in over 1,000 AICTE-approved colleges in India.
For CMAT 2026, the registration process for online applications began from 17 October 2025, and the final date for filling up the application form was 24 November 2025, with fee payments due around 25 November 2025. Later on, there will be a correction period from around 26-28 November 2025 for modifications to the application form. Management Development Institute Gurgaon accepts GRE scores for admissions into certain programmes, such as FPM/EFPM and other graduate management courses, especially in the case of foreign applicants or specific research-oriented courses. A Management Development Institute (MDI) is a premier management school in India, located in Gurgaon. For most full-time courses, such as the PGDM course at MDI Gurgaon and even other management courses, they only consider CAT scores for the selection process. Indian nationals cannot use GATE scores for applying to the PGDM course at any institute. However, GATE is extremely helpful if you will be pursuing any research-based courses like the FPM course at any institute. A high score in GATE can be quite helpful, along with other parameters.

The PGDM, PGDM- HRM, PGDM- IB, and PGDM- Business Analytics programmes of MDI Gurgaon for the 2026-28 batch will be admitted through CAT 2025. Candidates should have at least 50% of marks or an equivalent CGPA in Class X and XII, and in their Bachelor's degree from a recognised university. A minimum 3-year bachelor's degree is required for most programmes, but PGDM and IB require a 4-year degree and at least 1 year of work experience. Qualified candidates must register online via the MDI portal during the specified dates.

This course is designed to enable students to manage the interface between traditional management and governance and the leadership requirements of the public and private sectors. Eligibility-wise, DoPT-sponsored applicants need to be Group 'A' officers who have completed five years of service and have at least three years left before retirement. Self-sponsored applicants should have a Bachelor's degree with at least 50% of the marks and should have gained three years of executive work experience by April 2026. Besides this, they should also have a valid score from any of the nationally recognised exams like CAT, GMAT, XAT, MAT, ATMA, or CMAT.

Personal Interview shortlisting depends on the information provided in the application and the valid scores of a GMAT, CAT, XAT, MAT, ATMA, or CMAT.
The shortlisted candidates will be invited for a Personal Interview at the MDI Gurgaon campus.
On the day of the interview, the Zoom link will be shared for the interview. However, shortlisted applicants will be informed of these things in advance.
Those who get selected should deposit the first fee instalment by the due date; otherwise, their admission offer will be revoked.
The Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) at MDI Gurgaon is a research-oriented programme at a doctoral level designed for individuals who are interested in research, teaching, and knowledge creation in the field of management. The programme is available in two modes, Residential and non-residential. The institute welcomes candidates having a strong academic background, appropriate qualifications, and a genuine research interest.
Applicants should fulfil the minimum academic criteria and submit the scores of nationally or internationally recognised tests such as CAT, GMAT, GRE, UGC, JRF, or GATE. The institute will shortlist candidates for interviews. Students pursuing Residential FPM are eligible for financial assistance, which includes a monthly scholarship, research grants, and fee waivers, upon achieving satisfactory progress.

Step 1: Go to the MDI Gurgaon official website https://www.mdi.ac.in.
Step 2: Choose the programme for which candidates want to apply and read the instructions carefully.
Step 3: The online registration needs to be done from November 2026, to Saturday, 28 February 2026 (up to 5:00 PM).
Step 4: In the online application form, candidates need to fill in all the personal, academic, and work-related information correctly.
Step 5: Candidates can pay the application fee of INR 3000 (including 18% GST) via credit card, debit card, or net banking.
Step 6: Before the final submission, verify all their details because candidates will not be allowed to make changes after the submission.
Candidates need to appear for at least one of the common entrance exams like CAT, GMAT, GRE, UGC JRF, and GATE.
It is necessary that the result is valid up until the final application date and that the result is supplied when making the application. The candidates with such scores will then be shortlisted.
On the basis of these scores, the department will shortlist the candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview that may be held online or offline at MDI Gurgaon in April/May 2026 (tentative).
Test Exemption:
Without test scores, candidates who have obtained a two-year full-time MBA/PGP degree within the last ten years from MDI, IIMs, XLRI, or FMS with a minimum of 6.0 CGPA (out of 10) or equivalent are eligible to apply.
The verification of the exemption will be done by presenting the complete grade sheets (both sides) of the respective candidate; thus, the side of the grade sheets must be uploaded.
Residential FPM students can avail a monthly scholarship of INR 60,000.
For non-MBA students, the scholarship is given for a maximum of four years, while for MBA students, it is for a maximum of three years.
Besides, students will get an amount of INR 1,50,000 to meet research requirements such as fieldwork and books.
To support the presentation of research papers at academic conferences, a conference grant of INR 4,00,000 is available.
All financial support is subject to satisfactory academic progress in the programme.
Tuition rates, reading materials rates, student welfare rates, and library rates are all waived.
Accommodation in the hostel, if available, can be arranged by the respective institutes.
