IIT Bombay is one of the premier Engineering, Science and Technology institutes in India, located in Powai. The institute offers numerous courses such as BTech, BS, Bdes, MTech, MSc, MDes, MCA and many more at the UG and PG levels. To get admission into these courses, candidates are required to have national-level entrance exam scores such as JEE Advanced, GATE, CEED, etc.
To become eligible for UG courses, it is mandatory to have passed Class 12 with a minimum percent in Maths, Science and PCM altogether and have valid score of either JEE Advanced or UCEED, on the oher hand, PG courses require a basic eligibility criteria of having a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum percent in the relevant field and GATE, CEED, JAM, CAT, etc. score, depending on the course chosen.
In addition to this, students are also required to satisfy the cutoffs set by the institute. The institute sets cutoffs after the declaration of national-level entrance exams. The cutoffs can be determined by various factors, which include demand for the course, seat availability, reservation policies, difficulty level of the exam, last year’s trends, and the number of candidates. MTech and MTech+PhD require a GATE score.
The GATE results have already been announced on 19 March 2025, and candidates who have a valid GATE score are required to apply on COAP to confirm their seat. The COAP registrations are open now.
