Admission starts after the national-level exam’s results are declared. BDes admission is based on UCEED entrance exam scores. UCEED has already been conducted on 19 January 2025, and seat allotment for BDes is in process. Seat Allotment for BDes is expected to continue till the first week of July.
IIT Bombay Admission Important Dates
IIT Bombay offers admission based on national-level entrance exam scores for courses like BTech, BS, BDes, MTech, MA, MSc, MDes, etc. Candidates willing to pursue UG courses must meet the basic eligibility criteria of Class 12 with a required 75% aggregate for the BTech program. Accepted entrance exams for UG courses are:

BTech, BDes and BS in AE, Design, CSE, EE, CSE CE, Civil Engineering, ME, Engineering, Physics, etc., are the UG courses that are offered by the institute. An entry-level requirement is to have cleared Class 12 PCM with a minimum of 75%, and must have a valid score in national-level entrance examinations such as JEE Advanced and UCEED.
The tuition fee for UG courses is INR 1,00,000 per semester. Seat Allotment for the BDes course is in process and continues till the first week of July, while JEE Advanced exams are conducted on 18 May 2025. BTech admission is expected to start at the end of June, following the JEE Advanced result announcement and commencement of JoSAA counselling in the first week of June 2025.

IIT Bombay BTech Admission 2025
IIT Bombay offers BTech at the UG level in various specialisations such as AE, CE, CSE, EE, etc. The basic eligibility criteria for BTech is Class 12 with a minimum of 75% in PCM (general category candidates), in addition to this, candidates are required to have a valid JEE Advanced score. JEE Advanced exams were conducted on 18 May 2025. The final key is expected to be released on 02 June 2025. JoSAA Counselling will start at the beginning of June. The admission portal for BTech will open soon. The minimum tuition fee for BTech course is INR 1,00,000 per semester.
At the PG level, IIT Bombay offers MTech, MDes, MBA, MSc, MPP, MDP, MPhil, MA by Research, MSc by Research in Management, Science and Engineering, Social Sciences and Humanities, Design, etc. Candidates must meet the basic requirement of a Bachelor's degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 60% and must have a valid national-level entrance exam score. Candidates are required to appear for GATE, JAM, CEED, and CAT for respective PG courses. The basic tuition fee ranges between INR 5,350 and INR 3,73,750 per semester, depending on the course.
MSc is a 2-year Postgraduate course offered in various specialisations at IIT Bombay. The minimum qualification requirement an applicant is required to meet is BSc or any specific Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 60%, and must have a valid JAM score. JAM results were declared on 18 March 2025, and the application portal on JOAPS was closed on 11 April 2025. Candidates who have applied for the MSc on JOAPS are required to confirm their seats and pay the prescribed amount.
First admission list will be released on 26 May 2025, second list on 8 June 2025, third list on 16 June 2025, while the fourth list will be released on 30 June 2025, additional round (if required) will be conducted on 4 July 2025 and downloading of offer letter will start from 9 July 2025. The tuition fee for the MSc ranges between INR 7,750 and INR 16,000 per semester.
IITB offers PhD courses in various disciplines. The basic eligibility criteria is a Master’s degree in the relevant field and a valid ICMR/ DBT/ UGC/ CSIR-JRF score. The shortlisting of candidates will be based on the written test and an interview round. Admission for PhD courses has been closed following the second round of the interview on 15 May 2025. PhD per semester tuition fee is between INR 5,350 and INR 32,750.
