IIT Bhubaneswar Placement Details
The Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar placement for the 2025 batch has been impressive. Out of 315 registered undergraduate (B.Tech) students, 282 students have participated in the placement process. As of now, 254 students have been able to get jobs, giving an amazing placement rate of 90.07%. On the other hand, the Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar placement rate for M.Tech students is 64.12%. Among the achievements, the domestic salary package reached an all-time high of INR 67.6 lakhs per annum which is the highest ever at IIT Bhubaneswar. This clearly signifies the growing stature of the institute.
Students were able to interview with a broad spectrum of reputed companies. PSUs such as Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Engineers India Limited (EIL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) were among the companies that recruited students. Besides this, a lot of MNCs like Google, Reliance Industries, Oracle, Accenture Japan, HCL Technologies, Tata Steel, Hitachi Energy, and others came to the campus for hiring. Besides that, a bunch of really good companies made offers to the pre-final B.Tech students to go on internships with them. IIT Bhubaneswar B.Tech Placement 2025: Stream-wise Distribution
In the Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar placement 2025, a total of 282 B.Tech students participated, with 254 of them securing jobs, giving an overall placement rate of 90.07%. The Computer Science and Engineering branch was leading in terms of placement rate, i.e., 95.3% where 62 students out of 65 were placed. The highest salary in this branch was 67.6 lakhs per annum, with an average package of 23.2 lakhs.
Besides that, the other branches were also successful in their placement records: Electrical Engineering with a 91.5% placement rate, Mechanical Engineering 93.7%, Civil Engineering 88.6%, Electronics and Communication 78.7%, and Metallurgical and Materials Engineering 89.4%. The highest salary across branches was INR 67.6 lakhs, whereas the lowest salary offered was INR 5.5 lakhs per annum. The IIT Bhubaneswar fees for the B.Tech course are around INR 11.15 lakh for the full course.
Meanwhile, the average salaries were from 14.77 lakhs in Mechanical Engineering to 23.2 lakhs in Computer Science, which illustrates outstanding opportunities in all areas. The median salary across all branches was INR 12 lakhs which indicated a stable trend of high-value offers for the students.

IIT Bhubaneswar Dual Degree Placement 2025
At the 2025 placement season, the Dual Degree students of IIT Bhubaneswar made 86 attempts in total, out of which 73 were successful. The overall placement rate thus stood at 84.88%. The Computer Science and Engineering branch was the leading one regarding placement as it achieved a 100% placement rate, with all 11 students being placed. Besides, this branch registered the maximum salary package of INR 67.6 lakhs per annum along with the highly impressive average of INR 40.2 lakhs.
The Mechanical Engineering program was placed well enough, having a placement rate of 91.6% as 33 out of 36 students were placed. The highest salary offered here was INR 38.5 lakhs while the average package was INR 14.3 lakhs. Furthermore, the situations of the different branches such as Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Metallurgical and Materials Engineering were as follows: 70%, 71.4%, and 87.5% placement rates respectively.
The salary packages differed from one branch to another, with the minima varying from INR 5.2 lakhs to INR 13.6 lakhs and the averages being around INR 9.4 to 27.5 lakhs. The overall average salary for the combination of all branches was INR 16.98 lakhs per annum indicating a great range of opportunities for Dual Degree programs.

IIT Bhubaneswar M.Tech Placement 2025: Stream-wise Distribution
The 2025 M.Tech placement season at IIT Bhubaneswar saw a participation of 131 students, out of which 84 students got placed, leading to a placement rate of 64.12%. The maximum package was INR 32 lakhs per annum, and the minimum package was INR 4.5 lakhs.
The Department of Integrated Circuits and VLSI declared a 72.7% placement rate with an average package of INR 17.3 lakhs. The two most attractive branches for employment i.e. Structural Engineering and Environmental Engineering, both had high placement rates of 88.8% and 83.3%, respectively, and average salaries close to INR 7 lakhs. Water Resources Engineering achieved a 100% placement rate; however, there were only two students.
Computer Science and Engineering had 73.3% of students getting placed, with the average package being very attractive at INR 21.5 lakhs. The Mechanical Systems Design branch was among the top in terms of placement rate with 90.9%, and the average salary was INR 6.9 lakhs. The situation was equally good in the case of the other branches like Power System Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering, where students were placed well. On the whole, the average salary was around INR 10.9 lakhs across all M.Tech branches, which is a strong indication of bright career prospects for postgraduate students.

IIT Bhubaneswar Placement Report 2024
During the IIT Bhubaneswar placement 2024, various branches of the B.Tech program attracted a large number of students to participate and consequently had a good number of students placed. The overall placement rate was 84.6% when 235 out of 278 students who had participated got placed. With a 92.4% placement rate and the maximum salary package of INR 64 lakhs per annum, the Computer Science and Engineering department was at the forefront. Besides that, the Mechanical Engineering (94.3%) and Electrical Engineering (82.2%) were able to match up to the challenge and record good placement rates wherein the average salaries were between INR 12 and 22.6 lakhs.
There were 88 participants from the Dual Degree program, out of which 58 were successful in getting a placement, thus the placement rate was close to 66%. Additionally, the Computer Science branch was the only one to achieve 100% placement and the highest package of INR 52.6 lakhs. Apart from that, branches such as Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering had their placement rates hovering around 57-66%.
M.Tech students who participated in the IIT Bhubaneswar placement drive numbered 126, and 96 of them got a job; thus, the placement rate was approximately 75%. In several branches, the placement rate was 100%, as in the case of Structural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Power Electronics, and Thermal Science. The highest salary offered to M.Tech students was INR 20 lakhs in the field of Computer Science, while the companies mostly offered a package ranging between INR 6 and INR 14 lakhs, depending on the branch.
Summing up, IIT Bhubaneswar placement 2024 season across various programs indicates that the institute is quite attractive to employers and that there will be some very rewarding packages especially in the tech field. Also, excellent opportunities for students from a wide range of disciplines have been ensured.

IIT Bhubaneswar Placement Report 2023
During the IIT Bhubaneswar placement in 2023, 383 students from B.Tech and Dual Degree programs registered; out of which, 342 students participated in the placement process. Up to now, 303 students have been placed, which indicates a good placement rate. The highest domestic salary package was as high as INR 55.75 lakhs per annum.
The average salary for B.Tech students is INR 17.7 lakhs, whereas for M.Tech students, it is INR 11.7 lakhs. Besides, the M.Tech placement percentage is more than 90%, which implies excellent opportunities for postgraduate students.
IIT Bhubaneswar was the stage of the recruitment drive by several top Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) such as Oil India Limited, Bharat Electronics Limited, GAIL, NTPC, etc. Apart from these, a major multinational company like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Flipkart, Oracle, Jaguar Land Rover, and Tata Steel were actively involved in the hirings of students and were offering a broad spectrum of job roles to them.

IIT Bhubaneswar Placement Comparison: 2023 vs 2024 vs 2025
IIT Bhubaneswar placements have been quite strong for three years in a row. B.Tech students did best in 2025 with 254 out of 282 getting jobs which is up from 235 out of 278 in 2024. The top B.Tech package reached a record 67.6 LPA (from 64 LPA in 2024 and 55.7 LPA in 2023), while the lowest offers stayed around 5-6.5 LPA. Meanwhile, Dual Degree saw 73 out of 86 placed in 2025 (better than 58/88 in 2024). M.Tech had 84 out of 131 jobs in 2025 (64% rate), down from 96/126 in 2024 and 105/117 in 2023, with top packages between 20-33 LPA.
