According to the data of the year 2024-2025, students’ interest in IIT Bhubaneswar courses has been increasing. The most popular choices of students in the year 2025 are Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) and Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE). CSE and ECE are becoming popular among the students, and have recorded growth of about 13.85% and 15.21% respectively. Apart from these core engineering branches, such as Electrical, Civil, and Mechanical, they also recorded a decent increase in the popularity of about 13.09%, 13.07%, and 11.76% respectively.

IIT Bhubaneswar introduced a new course in Mathematics and Computing, which also shows a good start for the first year, as around 12,580 students were admitted into this.
