IIT Bhubaneswar Fee Structure
IIT Bhubaneswar is the provider of a top-notch educational experience that requires a reasonable amount of money and, therefore, is an excellent investment for the students. IIT Bhubaneswar fees for the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs are organised in a way to keep the university accessible to the students, while six provisions for the academic and living expenses are given. IIT Bhubaneswar B.Tech and Dual Degree Fees 2026
The IIT Bhubaneswar fees for B.Tech are meant to cover students' needs of various kinds throughout the four-year program and also to provide access to standard education and facilities. During admission, students have to deposit a one-time admission fee of INR 8,000. The Tuition fee is INR 1,00,000 per semester, and for all eight semesters. IIT Bhubaneswar fees for the Dual Degree program in 2026 are planned for six years, with payments made each semester. For the first four years, the tuition fee is INR 1,00,000 per semester. This tuition fee is drastically reduced to INR 5,000 per semester in the 5th and 6th years when the student goes for the postgraduate program. Other than tuition, the fees vary between INR 9,650 and INR 12,040 according to the semester, and they represent the fees for administration and academic services. The IIT Bhubaneswar hostel charges are INR 9,500 per semester for the first four years, and then they are increased by INR 10,500 in the last two semesters. Mess charges are fixed at INR 18,000 per semester throughout the entire program.
In addition to that, there are extra charges every semester, such as other fees (for administrative and miscellaneous services), which amount to INR 12,040 for odd semesters and INR 9,650 for even semesters. IIT Bhubaneswar Hostel establishment charges and mess fees are also to be paid by the students and are INR 9,500 and INR 18,000 per semester, respectively.
International students have different tuition fees at IIT Bhubaneswar: students from SAARC countries and Least Developed Countries pay INR 2 lakh per year, while those from non-SAARC and developed countries pay INR 6 lakh per year plus other charges, if any. IIT Bhubaneswar M.Tech Fees 2025
Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar fees for the M.Tech course for 2026 are kept reasonably priced while they cover all necessary academic and living expenses. Initially, students are required to pay a refundable caution money fee of INR 12,000 and a one-time admission fee of INR 8,000. The tuition fee for each semester is different according to the category of the student: INR 5,000 for General, EWS, and OBC students; and students of category SC/ST/PwD have full tuition fee waiver however, sponsored candidates need to pay INR 25,000. IIT Bhubaneswar admission for M.Tech is done on the basis of GATE entrance exam with further proceedings of a written test and interview.
Other semester fees that include registration and laboratory charges are INR 9,500 for all categories. Every year, students pay INR 2,390 for medical insurance. The IIT Bhubaneswar hostel charges are fixed at INR 28,500 per semester, and this amount will include the cost of the accommodation. The tuition fee for foreign nationals is different. SAARC and Least Developed Country students pay INR 10,000 per year plus the other applicable fees, while non-SAARC and developed country students pay INR 6 lakh per year plus the applicable fees.

IIT Bhubaneswar M.Sc. Fees 2026
The M.Sc. fees at the Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar for the year 2025 comprise the semester fees, the hostel, and the mess charges that differ a little from one semester to another. The first-semester fee for students of the General, EWS, and OBC categories is INR 65,540, out of which the semester fee is INR 14,650 and the hostel & mess charges are INR 28,500. The total for the first semester for SC/ST/PwD students is INR 60,540 only. The total fees for the following semesters are lower and vary from INR 38,150 to INR 45,540, depending on the semester and category. The semester fees change from INR 14,650 to INR 17,040, and the hostel and mess charges are INR 28,500 per semester.
Also, for foreign nationals, the tuition fees are not the same. Students from SAARC countries and LDCs will have to pay INR 5,000 per semester plus other charges, while those from Non-SAARC and Developed Countries will be charged INR 3,00,000 per semester plus applicable charges. IIT Bhubaneswar PhD and MS by Research Fees 2026
The Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar fees for PhD and MS by Research at IIT Bhubaneswar in 2025 are created with the foremost consideration of the convenience of research students to help them financially through their research journey. When entering the institution, apart from the admission fees, a refundable caution money of INR 12,000 is also to be paid by the students. The one-time admission fee is INR 8,000 for people belonging to General, EWS, and OBC categories, while it is INR 7,000 for SC/ST/PwD and Sponsored/Working Professionals.
Semester fees are INR 14,650 for a general category student, with SC/ST/PwD students being given a full tuition waiver (they need to pay only other semester fees), and INR 34,650 for a sponsored student. IIT Bhubaneswar ITEP Program Fees 2026
The International Technology Entrepreneurship Program (ITEP) fees at IIT Bhubaneswar include tuition, hostel, mess and other necessary expenses that are spread across the semesters. For General, EWS, and OBC categories, the refundable caution money is INR 12,000 and the one-time admission fee is INR 8,000. Tuition fee per semester is INR 14,650, which is also applicable to SC/ST/PwD students. Annual medical insurance is charged at INR 2,390. The hostel and mess charges, however, are a little less than those of other programs, i.e., INR 27,500 per semester. The total first-semester fee for general category students is INR 64,540, and that for SC/ST/PwD students is INR 59,540.
The subsequent spring semester fees are INR 42,150 and INR 37,150, respectively. The autumn semester fees vary from INR 44,540 for the general category to INR 39,540 for SC/ST/PwD students. This phased fee plan allows students to keep track of the money they need throughout the ITEP program at IIT Bhubaneswar. Besides, there are many fellowships programs being offered for postgraduate and doctoral programs as well. Some of them are ASEAN Fellowship Program for PhD students, James Thomason Scholarship for Top JEE Advanced Rankers, etc. The details of these fellowships are given below:
1. ASEAN Fellowship Program
IIT Bhubaneswar participates in India's MHRD ASEAN Fellowship Program, welcoming PhD aspirants from ASEAN countries to engage in cutting-edge research in science and technology. Selected students receive full funding equivalent to Indian counterparts for up to 5 years to cover all study and living expenses. The fellowship offers a monthly stipend of INR 31,000 for the first two years, increasing to INR 35,000 for the next three years, along with a research grant of up to INR 1,70,000 for travel, books and contingencies. Additionally, students get a 24% house rent allowance if hostel accommodation is not provided, with a maximum tenure of 5 years.
2. James Thomason Scholarship
Students who secure an All India Rank of up to 275 in JEE (Advanced) can receive the James Thomason Scholarship at IIT Bhubaneswar. Under this scheme, each eligible student is paid INR 25,000 per month for the full length of their degree program. To continue receiving the scholarship every year, they must maintain a CGPA of at least 8.0 at the end of each academic year.
3. Postgraduate and PhD Students
If a candidate belongs to the Regular (non-sponsored) category and clears the national level exams like GATE, NET or JRF, only then they will qualify for these fellowship programs. Meanwhile, International students, whether receiving fellowships or not, may work as student assistants on projects. In addition, high-performing SII program students in their first semester can get ICCR sponsorship recommendation for the remaining semesters.
