Sanctions have been imposed on the appointments for vacant vice-chancellor positions in West Bengal state universities. However, the issues regarding higher education in West Bengal have been successfully addressed. The Governor, C. V. Ananda Bose, has appointed six new Vice Chancellors (VCs) with the approval of the Supreme Court. The Raj Bhavan officials informed about the approval of appointment requests by state universities. As per the details, Prof Abu Taleb Khan has been positioned as the vice chancellor of the Biswa Bangla Biswavidyalay, while Prof Chandradipa Ghosh will be taking charge at Sadhu Ramchand Murmu University, Jhargram.
Additionally, the higher education department has regulated the official orders for the appointments of full-term vice-chancellors at Calcutta University (CU) and Jadavpur University (JU). This new era of progression is going to mark a significant phase in stabilizing university leadership and fostering academic progress. The Supreme Court ruling allows the state government and the Raj Bhavan to approve the appointment of the new vice chancellors for universities.
Also, many leaders have been promoted to upper positions, considering their dedicated and innovative guidance and learning. Ashutosh Ghosh, who previously served as the VC of Calcutta University, has now been upgraded to the top position for life. Since the university was not under any academic guidance or leadership for almost three years, this evolution might prove to be worth it.
