The State Bank of India (SBI) has officially released the SBI PO 2025 notification, inviting applications for 541 Probationary Officer (PO) positions across its branches nationwide. The online registration process began on 24 June 2025 and will remain open until 14 July 2025 through the official SBI careers portal at sbi.co.in.
This recruitment drive includes 500 regular vacancies and 41 backlog vacancies, offering a golden opportunity for graduates aspiring to build a career in India’s largest public sector bank.
SBI PO Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the SBI PO 2025 exam, candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in any relevant field from a recognized university.
Candidates must be between 21 and 30 years og age as of 1 April 2025. Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), and PwD candidates as per government norms.

Candidates need to follow these steps to fill out the application form.
Step 1: Go through the official SBI website: sbi.co.in
Step 2: Navigate to the “Careers” section and click on “Current Openings” on the Home Tab.
Step 3: Select “Recruitment of Probationary Officers 2025”.
Step 4: Click on “Apply Online” and complete the registration.
Step 5: Fill in personal and academic details, upload documents, and pay the application fee.
Step 6: Submit the form.

SBI PO Selection Process
The SBI PO 2025 recruitment process consists of three stages:
Preliminary Examination: The exam consists of a 100-mark objective test covering English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability. This is a qualifying round.
Main Examination: Includes both objective and descriptive sections. The objective test consists of 4 sections: Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, and English Language. The descriptive test evaluates English writing skills.
Phase III – Psychometric Test, Group Exercise & Interview: Candidates who clear the mains will undergo a psychometric test, followed by group exercises and a personal interview.
