According to the QS ranking 2026, Delhi is one of the most affordable cities for students pursuing higher education in the city, securing a place on the “Best student cities” list. Along with Delhi, cities such as Mumbai, Chennai, and Bangalore are also at the top of this list when it comes to affordability criteria. These rankings are based on the reviews of the students, student mix, affordability, and desirability of the educational institutes located in Delhi. More than 150 cities all over the world were evaluated on these parameters to find the best city to pursue education.
The CEO of the QS acknowledged the rising ranks of Indian institutes in the list. In the past decade, the presence of Indian institutes in the QS ranking has increased by 390% due to a greater focus on global engagement and quality enhancement under the New Education Policy 2020. This directly reflects the enhanced quality of education and international trust in the Indian education system.
