IIM Bangalore remains India's top-ranked B-school
IIM Bangalore has once again emerged as India’s highest-ranked institution in the QS Global MBA Rankings 2027. However, the global ranking of this educational institution has slipped to 64th this year, compared with 52nd in the previous ranking.
The institute performed exceptionally well in terms of employment, securing the 29th position globally on this indicator. It also ranked 51st worldwide for thought leadership. IIM Ahmedabad also slipped from 58th rank to 70th rank in the QS World University Rankings 2027, whereas IIM Calcutta is ranked 95th in 2027, down from 64th in 2026.
ROI and other indicators affect rankings
The latest rankings also highlight differences in individual performance indicators. The three IIMs saw notable changes in different areas, including return on investment, entrepreneurship and alumni outcomes, as per the ranking data reported by Business Standard.
However, a change in the ranking does not mean that the graduates are earning more or less than before. QS compares these institutes with business schools from around the world, and the competition can change each year. The rankings also reflect stronger performance from international business schools across several QS indicators.
