JoSAA 2026 Round 5 Seat Allotment Result Out; Check IIT, NIT, IIIT & GFTI Opening and Closing Ranks

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will announce the Round 5 seat allotment result for JoSAA Counselling 2026 today on 16 July at 5 PM. Candidates who are seeking admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs can check their allotment status through the official JoSAA portal.

The JoSAA counselling process consists of registration, choice filling, seat allotment, seat acceptance, document verification and payment of the seat acceptance fee. Along with the seat allotment, the authority will also release the final opening and closing ranks for admissions to IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs.

Students must take a note that Round 5 is the final round of the JoSAA counselling process. Candidates who are allotted a seat in this round must log in to the official portal and choose whether to accept the allotted seat or withdraw from the counselling process. No additional rounds of JoSAA counselling will be conducted after Round 5.

If there are any vacant seats left after the JoSAA counselling process ends, they will be allotted through the CSAB Special Counselling. Eligible candidates can take part in this process to apply for the remaining seats.

Step 1: Visit the official JoSAA website at https://josaa.nic.in/ 

Step 2: Click on the link for the Round 5 Seat Allocation Result available on the homepage, under the candidate activity board.

Step 3: You will be redirected to a different page. Enter the required login details, including the application number, password and security PIN.

Step 4: After successful login, the seat allotment result will appear on the screen.

Step 5: Review the allotted institute and course details then download and save the result for future reference.

JoSAA Cutoff 2026: Round 5 Opening and Closing Ranks

Candidates can check the opening and closing ranks (cutoffs) for IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs by following these easy steps.

Step 1: Visit the official JoSAA website.

Step 2: On the homepage, open the eServices section.

Step 3: Click on the OR-CR 2026 (Opening and Closing Ranks) link.

Step 4: Select the required details, which include the counselling round, institute type, institute name, course and your category/seat type.

Step 5: Click on Submit to view the opening and closing ranks for your selected course and institute.

JoSAA Counselling 2026: Document Submission List

For JoSAA 2026 Round 5, candidates who are allotted a seat need to submit the following documents for verification process while online reporting.

• Class 10 mark sheet

• Class 12 marksheet 

• Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS), if applicable

• Certificate for candidates with less than 40% disability who have difficulty in writing (if applicable)

• Medical certificate in the prescribed JoSAA format

• Copy of a cancelled cheque or the first page of the bank passbook showing bank account details

• OCI/PIO card, if applicable

• Passport/Citizenship certificate, if applicable

• Aadhaar card (accepted as identity/date of birth proof where applicable)
