Jammu and Kashmir Board Exams 2025: Class 10th Date Sheet Revised Due to Assembly Bye-Elections
1 Day Ago
After the announcement of bye-elections in the Assembly of the Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has formally rescheduled the Class 10 October-November 2025 exam date sheet for the winter-zone areas. The decision is intended to avoid double engagements and ensure that the examination process goes on smoothly without any kind of disruption to the students of thousands.
As per the changed notification, the Science examination will be held on November 13, 2025, and the Hindi paper on November 20, 2025. The revised date sheet has been uploaded on the board's official website.
JKBOSE Class 10 Revised Exam Schedule 2025
The board’s decision to modify the date sheet affects a few key subjects while retaining most of the earlier schedule. Below is the revised timetable for the JKBOSE Class 10 October-November 2025 exams for winter-zone areas:

Why the Date Sheet Was Revised
The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly bye-elections, which mainly included Budgam and Nagrota constituencies, were to be held around the same time as the Class 10 board exams. Thus, in order to prevent the overlapping of the events and facilitate smooth interaction between the election and education departments, the JKBOSE changed the examination timetable.
The board stated in its notification: “It is hereby notified for the information of all the stakeholders in general and the students of Class 10 in particular that the date sheet for the Secondary School Examination (Class 10th) Annual/Regular 2025 (Oct-Nov session) has been revised in view of the Assembly bye-elections.”
No exams will be conducted on November 7 and November 14, 2025, as those dates coincide with election-related activities.
JKBOSE 15% Syllabus Concession Continues
Earlier this year, JKBOSE announced that students scoring 85% marks would be considered equivalent to scoring 100%, owing to syllabus concessions. The 15% relaxation was a measure introduced after the academic disruptions caused by heatwaves, heavy rains, cloudbursts, and floods that affected different areas.
The move is expected to create a level playing field in assessment and lessen students' anxiety when they have to take their exams in such harsh conditions.
Changes in Class 10 Syllabus and Date Sheet: JKBOSE Notice to Schools
While JKBOSE has changed the Class 10 date sheet, it has also instructed all privately affiliated schools to follow the board-prescribed curriculum and textbooks from classes 1 to 10.
The board claims that all the JKBOSE textbooks can be purchased at the Srinagar and Jammu divisional offices and from the registered bookshops in different districts. The books are being restructured to meet the requirements of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which concentrates on competency-based learning and conceptual clarity.
JKBOSE made it clear that the execution of the government curriculum would not only maintain the standard of education in the academic institutions but also would be economical for the students of both government and private schools.
