The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) will conduct the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2026 for admission to undergraduate engineering and science programmes in the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). According to the official schedule released on jeeadv.ac.in, the JEE Advanced 2026 exam will take place on May 17, 2026.
The examination will be conducted in 221 cities across India and in two international centres - Abu Dhabi and Kathmandu. Candidates must qualify in the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) to become eligible for the advanced-level exam.
For Indian candidates, the registration dates will start from April 23, 2026 and for foreign candidates, the registration date will be available from April 6, 2026. Foreign applicants are not required to take JEE Main to be eligible to take JEE Advanced, unlike Indian candidates.

Candidates appearing in the examination have to write both papers.As per the brochure, only the top 2.5 lakh candidates of JEE Main merit list can appear for JEE Advanced 2026.
