When it comes to pursuing an MBA degree, IIM Bangalore remains one of the most coveted choices of institutions. This institute offers several programs in management studies, the two-year MBA (PGP) being the most popular. Apart from this, there is also an MBA program with a specialisation in business analytics and an EPGP course for working professionals. For admission to the MBA program, IIM Bangalore requires the CAT scores of the candidate. They are required to meet a minimum cutoff for each category, as well as an aggregate cutoff, in order to be eligible for admission to the institute’s MBA program. The detailed cutoffs for admission to IIM Bangalore’s MBA program for the 2026 - 28 batch are listed below.
The first round of the admission process is a screening round. Among all the applicants, the ones who meet the cutoffs are selected for the eventual written test and personal interview round. This screening process takes into consideration several factors, including CAT scores, 10th and 12th board examination marks, marks obtained in the Bachelor’s degree, professional experience, and gender diversity. At this stage of the admission process, the CAT scores have a weightage of 55 points. The weightage is derived from every section of the exam. The Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VARC) section holds a weightage of 19 points. The section for Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) is of 21 points. Finally, the weightage of the Quantitative Aptitude (QA) section is 15 points.
IIM Bangalore has released the section-wise cutoff for admission to the 2026-28. These cutoffs are set considering the scores of the applicants in the CAT 2025 exam. To qualify for the written test and personal interview round, the applicants must meet these cutoffs. Detailed cutoffs are as follows:
