IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) has launched a new PG course named MSc in Data Science & Analytics for undergraduates wishing to pursue higher education in the data science & analytics field. The particular course comes under the School of Computer and Information Sciences (SOCIS). The minimum duration of this PG program is 2 years; however, students get a maximum of 4 years to complete their studies. The program is focused on catering to the rising requirement of the data industry nationally & internationally. The last date to apply for the PG course is 31st January, 2026.

IGNOU MSc Admission 2026: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have done a bachelor’s degree (minimum 3 years in total) from any recognised university/institute to pursue this PG program. The course fee is INR 13,000 per semester (excluding the registration, development, & application fee) as per the latest details available on the official IGNOU website. This postgraduate course is in the English language for the Data Science & Analytics specialisation.
Students get the flexibility to pursue this course remotely as it is offered in ODL (Open and Distance Learning) mode. Additionally, enrolled students who would complete the course with a total of 40 credits will be eligible for the Post Graduate Diploma in Data Science & Analytics, if they plan on exiting the PG course after 1st year.
