The University of Delhi (DU) has opened the Upgrade or freeze Round-I and Spot Admission Round-I for postgraduate admission 2025-26. Students will be able to opt for the upgrade round till 12 July 2025, whereas for the Spot Admission Round-I process will continue form 18 July 2025 to 26 July 2025. Candidates who have already taken admission and want to upgrade to a preferred course or college, or freeze their current seat, can participate in this round. 

Students who have not been admitted but have applied through the CSAS (PG) portal can apply in the Spot Admission Round I, which will begin from 18 July 2025, after the Upgrade Round, where they can check vacant seats and apply through the online admission dashboard. 

Meanwhile, the 3rd round of cut-off marks for PG and selected undergraduate professional programs is expected to be released soon. Qualified candidates can apply online for various PG programs like M.Ed., MPT, MPH, MA, MJ, MSW, M.Com., MCA and  MSc programs in various subjects. 

What You Need to Know About Upgrade Round I

Candidates who have secured admission in previous rounds can now choose to either upgrade their seat to a better-preferred program or freeze their current seat. The deadline to opt for this is 12 July 2025, till 4:59 PM. Students who have participated in this round need to pay differential fees on the online student’s dashboard before 16 July 2025. These applications will be verified by colleges and departments on 14 July 2025.  

Round 3 Cut-Off Marks

The third round of cut-off marks for both PG and UG admission is expected soon and students will be allocated seats in this round. These cut-offs cover a wide range of course in disciplines like arts, science, commerce, education, and law.

How Seat Allocations Are Made

Seat allocations in all rounds, including the 3rd cut-off round, are based on several important factors:

  • Programme-specific eligibility criteria

  • Candidate merit and academic performance

  • Reservation category

  • Availability of seats

  • Tie-breaking rules as specified by the university

Important Information for Candidates

  • The University of Delhi advises students to report any discrepancies or issues to the Admission Branch.

  • The Minimum cut-off scores may change due to seat withdrawals, seat cancellations, grievance redressals, or other administrative updates.

  • For special performance-based courses like M.A. in Hindustani Music, Master of Fine Arts (MFA), B.P.Ed., and M.P.Ed., students need to check details on the course departments.

  • The university will verify all admissions according to eligibility.
