The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will close the online application process for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 on December 18. Before the last date, the candidates of their interest in the examinations must make the registration, get all their documents ready for uploading, and pay the application fee through the official website.
Once the examination for CTET 2026 is fixed, the applicants will have to be ready to face the test on February 8, 2026. In case of the wrongly filled form, the window for corrections shall be available from December 23 to 26, i.e., the candidates will be allowed to rectify their mistakes during these dates.
CTET 2026 Eligibility
The eligibility requirements depend on the paper that the candidate decides to take. For Paper 1, which is for a teaching job in Classes 1 to 5, a candidate should have at least a 50 per cent mark in Class 12 and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education, a four-year B.El.Ed., or a two-year D.Ed. in Special Education.
For Paper 2 on a future career in teaching Classes 6-8, different criteria are set and candidates need to meet only one of them. These criteria are, for example, the possession of a graduation degree with a Diploma in Elementary Education, or a graduation degree of not less than 50 per cent along with a B.Ed. or a similar qualification. Besides, some people, after finishing Class 12 with at least 50 percent, are eligible to apply if they hold a four-year B.El.Ed., B.A./B.Sc.Ed., or B.Ed./B.Sc.Ed. Furthermore, a candidate with a graduation degree obtaining 50 per cent marks and a B.Ed. in Special Education is eligible to apply.
Steps to Apply for CTET 2025
Step 1: Visit the CTET official website.

Step 2: Navigate to the homepage and select the link to ‘Apply Online for February 2026’

Step 3: After that register yourself by providing all the required details like phone number, date of birth and the candidate’s name.

Step 4: After that, upload the required documents like the educational background and choose between paper 1 and 2. Complete the form by paying the required application fees.
Step 5: Carefully review all the details before submitting the application form and after that take a print out of the same for future reference.
