The Central Board of Secondary Education has recently announced the establishment of its seven new regional offices, which will be called Centres of Excellence, and sub-regional offices to streamline its administrative network and strengthen academic governance nationwide. According to the notification issued by CBSE Secretary Himanshu Gupta, the first proposal was accepted by the finance committee on December 12, 2024, later approved by the Governing Body on December 26, 2024 and finally received clearance by the Secretary of School Education & Literacy.

NEW REGIONAL CENTRES

The regional centres of Raipur, Ranchi, Itanagar, and Gangtok have already started operating from 22nd August. While offices in Gurugram and Lucknow will start their operations from 1st September. All the schools affiliated to the CBSE will now have to report to their respective regional offices

The New Education Policy was implemented in 2020, and these centres will play an important role in teacher training and the academic excellence of the students. The grievances will be resolved swifter, teacher training and a competent environment in academics will be ensured.
