The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened the online application window for the re-evaluation of Class 12 board exam answer sheets 2026 from today, May 19. The re-evaluation window has been opened for those students who are not satisfied with their CBSE Class 12 results 2026. Students who want to apply for verification and re-evaluation, they can visit the official CBSE website.
According to the schedule released by CBSE, students can apply for the re-evaluation process till May 22, 2026. After the applications are submitted, students will be able to access the rechecked answer sheets between May 26 and May 29.
CBSE 2026: Re-evaluation and Verification Fees Details
CBSE has also reduced the fees for several post-result services this year. The fee for obtaining photocopies of answer sheets has been reduced from INR 700 to INR 100. Similarly, the verification fee has been lowered from INR 500 to INR 100. However, students applying for re-evaluation will need to pay INR 25 per question for re-checking.
The board has decided to reduce the fees after many students, parents and teachers raised their concerns regarding the new On-Screen Marking (OSM) system. Many students also complained about getting lower marks in the CBSE Class 12 results 2026.
Students who wish to apply for re-evaluation are advised to visit the official CBSE websites and complete the application process before the deadline.
CBSE 12th Re-evaluation 2026: How to Apply
Students can follow the below mentioned steps to apply for the CBSE Class 12 re-evaluation process 2026.
Step 1: Visit the CBSE official website https://www.cbse.gov.in/
Step 2: Apply for a scanned copy of the CBSE Class 12 answer sheet for the required subject.
Step 3: Carefully check the evaluated answer sheet using the CBSE marking scheme.
Step 4: If students find any mistake or issue, they can report it to the board.
Step 5: After this, a committee of subject experts will review the request and take the final decision.
CBSE 12th Result 2026: Performance Analysis and Pass Percentage Details
According to the CBSE Class 12 result 2026, the overall pass percentage this year is 85.20%. Last year, the pass percentage was 88.39%, which means there has been a drop of 3.19 percentage points.
The official data also states that the girls performed better than the boys in the CBSE Class 12 exams 2026. Around 88.86% of girls passed the exams, while the pass percentage of boys stood at 82.13%.
