The CLAT 2026 registration started on 1 August 2025, for the exam scheduled to happen on 7 December 2025. The deadline for submitting applications for the CLAT 2026 exam was 7 November 2025. Interested candidates must complete the process online through the official Consortium of NLUs website. 

CLAT 2026 Application Form Fees

The CLAT 2026 Application Form Fees for both Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) programs are the same. Candidates must pay these fees to successfully register for the exam. Payment can be made via payment methods like net banking, UPI, credit card and debit card. Also, the officials allow candidates to optionally purchase previous years' question papers for an additional fee of around INR 500.

CLAT 2026 Registration Process 

Here are the simple steps for the CLAT 2026 registration process:

Step 1: Head to the official website of CLAT.

Step 2: Tap on the Register Now or Apply for CLAT 2026 option.

Step 3: Now, register using your name, mobile number, and email address.

Step 4: Set a password and verify the account via the OTP/link sent to the applicant’s device.

Step 5: Log in with newly generated credentials.

Step 6: Enter required details such as personal, academic, address, etc.

Step 7: Select the preferred course and a maximum of 3 exam centers.

Step 8: Upload necessary documents, including a passport-size photo, a signature, and category certificates.

Step 9: Pay the CLAT application fee online.

Step 10: Check all the information properly and submit the form. Also, don't forget to save the confirmation page for later reference.

• Class 10^th & 12^th mark sheet/certificate

• Valid ID and address proof (Aadhaar Card/Driving License/PAN Card, etc.)

• Recent passport-size photograph (maximum 500 KB, jpg/jpeg format)

• Scanned signature (maximum 100 KB, jpg/jpeg format)

• Category certificate (if applicable, for SC/ST/OBC/EWS)

• State domicile certificate (if applicable, up to 2 MB)

• PwD certificate (if applicable)

• BPL certificate (if applicable)

• LLB or equivalent degree certificate/mark sheet (for PG/LLM applicants)

CLAT 2026 Application Correction Window

The CLAT 2026 application correction window opened on 5 November 2025 and was active till 9 November 2025. During this period, candidates could review and make necessary changes to their submitted forms. They could edit fields like name, date of birth, program applied for (UG/PG), registered mobile number, and email ID. After the deadline of 9 November 2025, no changes were accepted.

CLAT 2026 Important Guidelines

• The CLAT 2026 exam will be conducted in offline mode on 7 December 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM (extended to 4:40 PM for PWD candidates).

• Candidates must apply online only through the official CLAT website (consortiumofnlus.ac.in). No offline applications are accepted.

• The application window opened on 1 August 2025 and closed on 7 November 2025, at 11:59 PM. 

• For registration, candidates must provide a valid email ID and mobile number, verify via OTP, and then fill out the application form with accurate personal, academic, and contact details.

• Candidates should carefully upload required documents such as their recent passport-size photograph, signature, and relevant category certificates (SC/ST/OBC/PwD/BPL) in PDF format.

• Once the application and fee submission are completed, candidates cannot change their program (UG/PG), category, or BPL status.

• Multiple applications by the same candidate will be discarded except for the last submitted one. No refund is provided for multiple submissions.

• Candidates seeking a reservation must produce relevant certificates issued by the competent authority at the time of admission.

• Foreign nationals and NRI/NRI-sponsored candidates should contact individual NLUs directly for admission, as CLAT does not conduct seat allotment for them.
