The IIT Guwahati placement season of 2024-25 was a great success, as it attracted the attention of nearly 260 different companies, which together offered jobs to 1,001 of 1,606 students. This finally gave an overall placement percentage of 62%. Among the various programs, B.Tech students had the highest placement rate at 75.65%, followed by MBA (61.9%), MSc (60.19%), MA (55.26%), BDes (46.43%), MSR (46.67%), MTech (44.65%), and MDes (40.74%). This is due to the fact that 193 students received pre-placement offers. The highest salary was an impressive INR 1.25 crore per annum. The statistics show that the industry is still confident in the skills and quality of the graduates produced by IIT Guwahati.
The Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Mathematics and Computing, and Data Science & AI programs reported exceptional placement rates of around 90%, and the average salary package for B.Tech students was INR 25.21 LPA. The highest-paying roles in all disciplines were in software development, data science, product management, and research. The top recruiters for the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati Placement included Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, Flipkart, etc., from the sectors of IT, finance, core engineering, and management.

IIT Guwahati Placement Data 2025 for UG Courses
During the IIT Guwahati placement session of 2025, the number of BDes students getting job offers was 26 and their median salary amounted to INR 23.28 LPA and their average salary was INR 28.42 LPA. On the other hand, 632 B.Tech students were able to secure placements and their salary packages were INR 20.44 LPA as median and INR 25.21 LPA as average. The average salary package of IIT Guwahati CSE was around 36.94 LPA. These numbers are evidence of high salary packages for both streams, although BDes students' average pay was a bit higher
