In addition to the regular undergraduate and postgraduate programs, IIT Guwahati provides two structured online degrees to various students. The first one, the B.Sc. (Honours) in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence is open to students who have completed 12th grade with an aggregate score of at least 60% and Mathematics as a key subject. This program is totally online, lasts four years, and is based on a trimester system. It includes data science and AI from the very basics to the most advanced concepts. The course also entails practical training, internships, and the use of state-of-the-art computing facilities. Students have different exit options, obtaining either certificates, diplomas, or degrees according to the length of their study. Based on the eligibility criteria of this program, it is the responsibility of the candidates to achieve a minimum of 60% marks in Mathematics in their class 12th examination.
On the other hand, the M.Tech in Flood and Water Resources Management is a 2-year hybrid course designed for working professionals. It is open to candidates with a 4-year BE/B.Tech degree in Civil, Agriculture, or related fields with a minimum of 60% marks and a year of experience in the water sector. The GATE score is not required for this program and admissions are based on a test and interview conducted by IIT Guwahati.
