The Xavier School of Management (XLRI), the conducting body for the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT), has recently announced the last date for XAT 2026 registration. Registrations for the XAT exam, scheduled to be conducted on January 4, 2026, opened on July 10 and will close on December 5, 2025. The highly competitive exam to select the top management contenders for PGDM/MA admissions in over 250 colleges is conducted every year in January. Being conducted online in over 100 cities, the XAT exam allows candidates to apply for multiple programs simultaneously. Candidates registering for the XAT 2026 exam can expect to download admit cards by December 20, 2025 (tentative).

As revealed through the official update, the exam will be conducted on January 4, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The highly competitive management test is conducted in a CBT format in 2 segments, with the former being an aptitude test (170 mins.) and the latter being general knowledge (10 mins.). Breaking down the exam pattern further, it comprises verbal ability and logical reasoning, decision making, quantitative aptitude and data interpretation, and general knowledge.

Here are some important details for candidates appearing for the XAT 2026 exam. 

• Registrations for the exam will be considered successful upon display of the ‘A verification email has been sent to your registered email’ message. Upon successful verification, the applicants will receive their respective login credentials. 

• Candidates applying for more than one program will be called for multiple assessment rounds, depending on the nature of the program.

• The shortlisting for the interview round will commence by the end of January 2026, with the interviews scheduled for mid-February to mid-March. 

• Candidates can expect the results for the XAT 2026 exam to be announced around three weeks after the exam.

• Applicants in the final year of their graduation will have to enter the marks obtained up to the last semester.
