The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has publicly announced the exam date for the PET exam today (July 14, 2025). According to the official notification released by the UPSSSC, the exam will be conducted on 6 September 2025 and 7 September 2025.

The Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) exam will occur in two shifts and will be of 2 hours duration. The first shift will start from 10:00 AM and will go on till 12:00 noon. Similarly, the second shift will start from 3 PM and will go on till  5 PM. The exam will have about 100 questions of MCQ type, and it will be in both Hindi and English language. Candidates will be awarded 1 mark for every correct answer, and ¼ marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer. 

To be eligible for the UPPSC PET exam 2025, a candidate has to pass their High School. Their age should be between 18 to 40 years, and a 5-year age relaxation will be given to OBC, SC/ST students.

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) is an important examination for students eyeing to get a government job in Group B and Group C categories in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The PET exam acts as a common eligibility test for various department posts. The exam is conducted in offline mode and it tests candidates in subjects like History of India, geography, economics, general science, arithmetic, reasoning, current affairs, and basic proficiency in Hindi and English. It should be kept in mind by the candidates that qualifying for the PET does not mean that the candidate gets a job, and it only serves as a screening test. After obtaining the score candidate can apply for various posts like Lekhpal, Junior Assistant, and Clerk in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
