Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examinations,are going to commence the 12th class public supplementary public exams on May 25, 2025. The detailed information related to the exam timing and schedule will be available for the students on 9 May, 2025 on the official website. 

Students who do not qualify the Tamil Nadu 12th class main exams, can now apply for the supplementary exams that are going to start on 9 May 2025. Students are requested to submit their applications through their respective schools. Supplementary exams give a second chance to the students who did not clear their subjects and avoid dropping out of their sessions. 

The marks statement for the Tamil Nadu 12th result 2025 will be uploaded on May 12 2025, Students can also request for scanned copies of their answer sheets between May 13 and May 17 2025. The qualifying marks for each subject is 35 out of 100. This year the overall percentage was 95.03%.Private schools in Tamil Nadu performed better than government schools.

How to apply for TN 12th class Supplementary Exam

  • Visit the official website: dge.tn.gov.in.
  • Find and select the “HSE Supplementary Exam 2025” section.
  • Enter your registration number, choose the subjects you wish to reappear for, and provide your personal details.
  • Attach any required documents, if asked.
  • Complete the payment of the application fee using the available online option.
  • After submitting, download or print the confirmation page for your records.
     

Application Fee Details

  • For each subject the fee is INR 235
  • iF students miss the deadline, they can still apply using the Tatkal option by paying the late fee of INR 1000

Eligibility and Important Rules

  • TN supplementary exam is only for those students who have failed in one or more subjects in the main class 12 board exam.
  • The syllabus for the supplementary exam will be the same as the regular board exam 
  • Those students who do not appear in the supplementary exam will be considered failed. And he must retake all subjects to obtain the class 12 certificate.
