The SSC CGL 2025 exam, earlier scheduled to be conducted in the month of August, has now been postponed. The exam is expected to be held in the first week of September, 2025. For the year 2025, the SSC CGL notification was released for a total of 14,582 vacancies comprising various Group B and C posts. These posts are spread across central government departments. The exact date for the SSC CGL 2025 exam has not been revealed yet. However, students must keep themselves updated with the latest advancements on the same at the official SSC website at https://ssc.gov.in/home

As per the reasons cited behind the rescheduling of the exam, the SSC is shifting towards a new and advanced model of Computer-Based Examinations (CBEs). The shift is in compliance with the Writ Petition Civil 234/2018 guidelines by the Supreme Court. The key highlight of the upcoming system is verification of candidates based on AADHAAR cards. Moreover, the invigilators too will be verified, as happened during the Selection Post Phase 13 Exam (July 24, 2025 - August 1, 2025).

Candidates are hereby informed that the One Time Registration (OTR) window has been opened by the SSC from August 14, 2025, to August 31, 2025. The OTR window will allow the candidates to update their details and make necessary changes. However, after August 31, no changes will be allowed.

The eligibility for the SSC CGL exam is a bachelor’s degree in any discipline. As for the age limit, it varies from post to post requirements. The Tier 1 examination will comprise a total of 100 MCQs and the maximum marks allowed are 200

There will be a total of four segments forming the structure of the exam, and they are General Intelligence & Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, and English Comprehension. Each section will have 25 questions and the duration of the exam will be 60 minutes.
