Candidates wishing to take the JEE Main 2026 should update their documents, as registration for the first session is scheduled to start in October 2025. The National Testing Agency (NTA) released an important notice regarding registration for the first session of the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main 2026. The exams for the first and second sessions will be taken in January and April 2026, respectively. The application form will be available online for the first session on the official website of jeemain.nta.nic.in

Students are advised to check and update their documents before registration to avoid problems during the admission process.

Note that failing to do so will result in cancellation of your registration. 

Documents that need to be submitted in JEE Main 2026

According to the NTA, students are advised to correct and update their important documents:

Aadhar Card: Your name and date of birth (according to Class 10th Result), recent photograph, address, and father’s name should be correct.

Category Certificate: Students who are applying under EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, or ST should have an updated and valid certificate. 

UDID Card (for a person with disabilities): The card should be valid and the latest.

NTA has clarified that any mistakes with these documents could lead to rejection of the application.

Updating them now will be better to avoid any last-minute stress when registration begins. Students are advised to regularly visit the official website of jeemain.nta.nic.in and nta.ac.in for the latest notification, important instructions, and dates. And candidates who are planning to attend the second session should also update their key documents and correct them to avoid rejection at the last minute. The results will be out in April/May 2026. 

To get admission in the best NITs, IITs, and other top private engineering institutions, JEE Main is the key. It is also referred to as the qualifying exam for JEE Advanced to get admission to the top IITs. Students who are planning to attend the top engineering colleges should update their documents in advance and stay updated on the notifications from NTA.
