As per the recent statistics of the Summer Internship placements released by the IIM Calcutta, the institute witnessed a season of 100% placement, with a monthly average stipend of INR 1.85 lakh, the median stipend at INR 2 lakhs and the highest monthly stipend peaked at INR 6 lakh. For its 62nd MBA Batch, the institute has received over 520 offers for 465 students from around 154 companies, within a week of the placement drive organised on campus.
The institute shared that the entire placement system was done in a hybrid way. There were 183 recruiters in total who were a part of the placement drive. This year, the institute included both new and already known recruitment partners. The institute stated that the well-organized cluster-cohort model along with the ‘dream offer’ type of policy made the closest possible matching between the students and the recruiters and thus resulting in what they termed “a win-win situation” for all the stakeholders.
IIM Calcutta Average Monthly Stipend
IIM Calcutta announced that the average monthly stipend during the summer placement season was INR 1.85 lakh. Median stipend was INR 2 lakh per month, singled out for praise for the highest domestic stipend was INR 4.5 lakh per month, and the top international stipend reached INR 6 lakh per month. The top 5 percent of students were able to earn on average a monthly stipend of INR 3.4 lakh, which is an indication of the strong demand for IIM Calcutta’s MBA graduates.
IIM Calcutta Placement 2025: Sector-wise Trends
The season of summer placement at IIM Calcutta was brightened by the diverse sector-wise offers made to the students, namely consulting, finance, FMCG, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, software, and technology. In addition to the usual recruiters, a bunch of domestic and international companies made their debut in the placement process.
It was the institution that strongly believed that its large and powerful alumni network played a major role in deepening the engagement of the recruiters and, hence, enabling the placements to take place without a hitch. The continuous interaction among the alumni, faculty, and corporate partners was the key to keeping up the momentum, which finally led to the achievement of the target of 100% placements for all the batches.
On top of that, the leading 5% students were able to take home an average monthly stipend of INR 3.4 lakh, which clearly indicates the fierce competition among MBA graduates from IIM Calcutta to be the preferred ones in the industry.
IIM Calcutta's Previous Placement Session Record
In the prior session for the 61st MBA batch, IIM Calcutta secured full summer internship placements, with all 475 students landing offers. The institute received a total of 564 offers from 175 companies spanning various sectors.
The median stipend was INR 2 lakh per month, and the average stipend stood at INR 1.89 lakh per month, both setting record highs for the institute at that time. The highest domestic stipend offered was INR 3.67 lakh per month, while international recruiters provided stipends up to INR 6.75 lakh per month.
