The Delhi government has officially announced the detailed admission timetable for entry-level classes in private schools for the academic year 2026-2027. Applications for admissions will be accepted starting from December 4, 2025, and the very first list of selected candidates is scheduled to be published on January 23, 2025. Schools are mandated to upload their admission criteria along with the points assigned to open seats (excluding the EWS/DG/CWSN categories) by the deadline of November 28, 2025.
According to the guidelines issued by the Directorate of Education (DoE), every school must enter the details of all applicants by January 9, 2026. Following this, the points allocated to each child under the points system should be uploaded by January 16, 2026.
Furthermore, the DoE has underscored the importance of transparency in the admissions process. Schools are obligated to publicly display the detailed breakdown of points for all admission criteria and disclose the information of children admitted under open seats, segmented district-wise, in a publicly accessible location or on their websites. If any draw of lots is necessary, it must be conducted in the presence of the parents and be duly video recorded. Schools are also required to comply fully with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act while framing their admission policies.
