The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared that the 21st edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) will be held on SundayFebruary 8, 2026. The registrations are about to open soon. This National-level examination that decides the suitability of candidates to teach in central government schools like KVS and NVS will be conducted in two parts: Paper I and Paper II.

The CTET 2026 test will be conducted in 132 cities in India in offline modePaper I is to be taken by those candidates who want to teach Classes 1 to 5, whereas Paper II is to be taken by Classes 6 to 8. The papers will be of 150 objective questions, and candidates have to answer in 2 hours and 30 minutes without any negative marking.

CTET 2026 Registration and Application Fee 

The application form of CTET 2026 will be announced on October 25, 2025, on the official site of CTET, which is cted.nic.in. The registration will be opened shortly. The application requires the candidates to prepare scanned versions of their photograph and signature and pay the required fees as given below. The application fee can be paid through debit/credit cards, net banking, or offline via e-challan at Syndicate Bank or Canara Bank.

How to Register for the CTET Exam 2026?

Step 1: Go to the official site of CTET at https://ctet.nic.in.

Step 2: Click on Apply Online and fill out the new registration or log in if already registered.

Step 3: Complete personal and educational information.

Step 4: Post scanned photograph and signature.

Step 5: Make the necessary payment online or offline.

Step 6: Print the confirmation page to be used later.

CTET 2026 Exam Eligibility and Languages

The applicants should be eligible based on their education level, depending on whether they are applying for Paper I, Paper II, or both. Candidates have no age restriction. The CTET exam will be administered in 20 languages
