Theββββββββββββββββ Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) has confirmed that the public exams for the intermediate first and second year students (IPE) 2026 will be conducted from February 25 to March 18, 2026. The detailed timetable will be made available soon on the official website at tgbie.cgg.gov.in. At present, the timetable has not been uploaded to the website. However, the information was conveyed by Intermediate Board Secretary S. Krishna Aditya during a press conference.
Board Announces TS Intermediate Exams Dates
Based on the latest information, the first-year exams are scheduled to commence on February 25, and the second-year exams will start on February 26. All the theory tests will be held in one session only, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. Meanwhile, the practical exams will be held from the first week of January 2026 ββββββββββββββββonwards.
Externallyββββββββββββββββ conducted practical examinations are being introduced for the first time for first-year students in Telangana. These practical exams were conducted only for second-year students. This change indicates the Telangana Board of Intermediate Education's (TGBIE) initiative to encourage experiential learning and the acquisition of skills in students of both ββββββββββββββββyears.
First-time Changes in Syllabus in a Decade
Oneββββββββββββββββ more significant update, the secretary S. Krishna Aditya revealed that the intermediate syllabus is going to be changed for the very first time in more than 10 years. The alterations will largely concentrate on the core scientific subjects of mathematics, chemistry, botany, and zoology. The changes will be guided by expert panels comprising university professors, and the updated syllabus will be in line with the NCERT framework to correspond to the national standards. The start of the work is scheduled for the first week of ββββββββββββββββNovember.
TS Intermediate Exams Structure
Withββββββββββββββββ effect from the 2026β27 academic year, the Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) is going to implement activity-based internal assessments for all subjects. The idea behind this modification is to have a more real and ongoing kind of evaluation. According to the new scheme, the theory or external exam is to be held for 80 marks, while 20 marks will be allotted for internal ββββββββββββββββassessments.
Board Launches New Streams
Inββββββββββββββββ order to furnish students with additional academic options, the board is going to launch a fresh stream that would merge accountancy, commerce, and economics, thereby enabling a more interdisciplinary approach to business studies. On the other hand, students who will be taking the board exams in the near future may begin depositing their examination fees at their respective colleges from the 1st of November.
