The Consortium of National Law Universities has announced that CLAT 2026 candidates can edit their test location preferences and correct personal details such as name, date of birth, programme (UG/PG), and reservation eligibility until 11:59 P.M. on November 9, 2025. After this deadline, no further changes will be accepted. Candidates must log in to their CLAT accounts, review their information, and re-submit the form to confirm any updates.

Additionally, the Consortium has extended the last date for CLAT 2026 online application submission to November 7, 2025 (Friday), 11:59 P.M. for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Applicants are advised to complete and submit their forms within the extended timeline. For queries or technical assistance, candidates can contact the helpdesk at [email protected] or call 080-47162020 between 10:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M., Monday to Saturday.

The CLAT is a national level examination that is conducted in an offline pen and paper mode. This exam lasts for a duration of 2 hours, and it consists of 120 multiple choice questions. The exam syllabus for the UG programs includes questions from areas like english language, current affairs, including general knowledge, legal reasoning, logical reasoning and quantitative techniques. While for the postgraduate programs, the syllabus includes constitutional law, administrative law, law of contract, torts, family law, etc.

Steps To Register For The CLAT 2026 Exam

Candidates can follow the steps mentioned below to easily register for the CLAT 2026 exam:

Step 1- Visit the official website by clicking on this link- consortiumofnlus.ac.in

Step 2- Create a new account by clicking on the ‘register’ button and entering your name, mobile number, email ID, and creating a password.

Step 3- Use the registered mobile number and password to log in to the website.

Step 4- Fill out the application form by providing personal details and academic qualifications.

Step 5- Choose the CLAT 2026 exam city centres. 

Step 6- Upload the required files in the correct format on the application portal. 

Step 7- Use a debit card, online banking, or UPI to pay the application fee. 

Step 8- Check the CLAT application form for any mistakes before submitting. 

Step 9- Download and save the confirmation page for your records after submitting.

Note: The application fee is set at INR 4000 for the general category and INR 3500 for SC/ST/PwD categories. Candidates who want access to the previous years' question papers will have to pay an additional fee of INR 500.

CLAT 2026 Application Form: Documents Required

Given below are the mandatory documents required during the CLAT 2026 application filling process: 

  • A recent passport-size photograph with plain background

  • Signature of the candidate 

  • Class 10th mark sheet and certificate

  • Class 12th mark sheet and certificate 

  • LL.B. degree certificate and mark sheets (for PG applicants)

  • Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD), if applicable

  • Valid photo ID proof such as Aadhaar card, PAN card, Passport, Voter ID, or Driving License

  • Certificate of impairment for differently-abled persons, if applicable
