The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) is going to close the CLAT 2026 counselling registration today, December 27, 2025, at 10:00 PM. The candidates who have appeared in CLAT 2025 and received a counselling invitation from the authority must finish their Round 1 registration before the deadline for seat allotment.
The CLAT counselling registration is done through an online mode only and can be done on the official website of the Consortium of NLUs at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Only those candidates who register within the given time will be eligible for the first round of seat allotment. Candidates who do not register until the deadline will not be considered for Round 1 counselling.

What Happens After Seat Allotment
The first round of seat allocation will be released on January 7, 2026. Seats will be allocated to candidates based on their CLAT score, category, and NLU preferences filled during registration. The results will be available online on the official counselling portal. Candidates who are given a seat must deposit the admission fee within the specified time, which is about one week, to book their seats.
If the payment is delayed, the allotted seat will be cancelled and given to another candidate in the next round. Those candidates who fail to secure a seat in the first round will have the chance to appear in the next counselling rounds, which are scheduled for January, February, and May. In the subsequent rounds, candidates may also be allowed to change or update their NLU preferences.
