On the other hand, reserved category students need 40% marks, and the RV College of Engineering admission procedure is based on candidates' academic performance and counselling through KEA, COMEDK, or Management quota.
If a student wants to get admission through lateral entry, they should have passed a Diploma examination or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for the reserved category) in all subjects in the final year. Admissions will be done through KEA counselling through DCET.
For the MCA Course
Candidates who have completed their BCA or have a BSc, B.Com, or BA degree with Maths at class 12th or graduation level can apply for this course. Those candidates who don’t have a Maths background must complete the bridge courses prescribed by the University. Students also need to have a minimum of 50% marks (45% for the reserved category). Additionally, admissions are through the KEA/PGCET Quota orManagement Quota.
For the M.Tech Course
Candidates who have passed the Bachelor’s exam with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for the reserved category). Additionally, admission is through the KEA or PGCET quota. For the management quota, candidates must take the PGCET entrance exam or have a valid GATE score for the current year 2026.
For the PhD programs
Candidates who want to get admission into the PhD programs offered by the college should have passed the master’s degree with a minimum percentage or CGPA as prescribed by the VTU. They also need to apply for and qualify for the VTU Entrance Test (UET/RAT), unless exempted.
Once candidates have qualified for the entrance exam, they will have to appear for an interview, so that the Department Research Committee will evaluate their research aptitude and proposed area of interest.
