Rungta International Skills University was founded in 1999 by Shri Ghanshyam Dasji Rungta under the GDR Educational Society for Higher & Technical Education. It started as an engineering college and later grew into a group of colleges offering courses in different fields. In 2025, it became a university with a focus on practical education and skill development.
The university is located in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, on an 80+ acre campus with modern classrooms, advanced laboratories and other learning facilities.
