Panjab University Central Placement Cell is an essential bridge between students and potential employers, influencing the professional paths of many students. To provide students with the opportunities they need, the placement cell has grown to be a crucial component of Panjab University's dedication to both academic success and overall growth.

As a part of the placement process, the university offers a summer internship and final placement. The campus placement drive starts from July to September; however, the final placement drive occurs in November to December. The university also provides the opportunity for lateral placements to its experienced students. The top companies that visit the Panjab University to hire eligible students include Infosys, HP, Adani, Deloitte, American Express, etc. 

The placement cell prepares its students through personality development workshops, GD/PI sessions, resume preparation sessions, career awareness programs, etc. The placement process can be summarised in the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: The university shows interest in recruiting from different top companies according to their students' choice.

Step 2: The company confirms the recruitment.

Step 3: The companies conduct pre-placement talks regarding job roles.

Step 4: The company shortlists the potential students.

Step 5: The company begins the final hiring process by conducting interviews. 

During the placement drive 2025, the highest salary package offered to the students was INR 24 LPA, while the average salary package stood at INR 12.43 LPA. The median salary package offered was INR 12 LPA. The total number of students who participated in the campus placement was 123, and a total of 53 companies visited the University Business School of Panjab University, Chandigarh. The Department of Computer Science & Applications has an 80% placement rate in 2022, with students being hired by major corporations such as American Express, Cognizant, Infosys, and Signity. With an average salary package of INR 5.22 LPA, the highest salary package offered to the candidates was INR 16.60 LPA. The University Business School offered the highest salary package in 2025, which was INR 24 LPA. The average salary package, with recruiters including Infosys, HP, Adani, Deloitte, and American Express, was INR 12.43 LPA. These statistics show that students in both departments had excellent placement results, which shows their academic success and placement opportunities.
